The idea behind the conference

The idea behind the conference is to give young researchers the opportunity to present their current projects. The aim is to create a friendly and comfortable atmosphere to encourage young researchers to express themselves and gain firsthand experience of a scientific conference.

We are a group of archaeology students from the Department of Classical Archaeology of Hamburg University. Due to our interest in Maritime Archaeology, we want to meet like-minded students and discuss recent work in this scientific field. Eventhough there already are conferences that discuss these topics, they are mostly aimed at established researchers. Setting up a conference for an international community of students was the next logical step to achieve this.

The city of Hamburg always had and still does have a strong connection to the maritime world. So we are looking forward to welcome you in Hamburg in June 2020.
